About the role:

The Accounting Analyst is based in London and reports to the EMEA Regional Controller. The Accounting team is responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining compliance with accounting standards, and supporting key month-end and year-end close processes.

This is a key role in consolidating, analyzing, and reporting financial performance related to operational expenses, balance sheet reconciliations, and general ledger integrity. The role works closely with the Regional Controller, and the Finance team as well as other cross-functional teams and the S4 Group finance team, to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, support audits, and drive process improvements within the accounting function.

Responsibilities:

  • Keep track of expenses and bank reconciliations.
  • Reconcile bank statements, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
  • Assist in monthly and quarterly closing processes by ensuring timely and accurate entries and variance analysis.
  • Prepare monthly analysis of accounting accounts.
  • Prepare and maintain balance sheet reconciliations of all accounts and accounting controls.
  • Manage balance sheet reconciliations and analyze any open items.
  • Monitor and collect data from automatic interface processes in Subledgers.
  • Ensure that accounting principles, policies, and procedures are followed to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of the financial statements.
  • Support audit processes by preparing documentation and responding to auditor inquiries.
  • Ensure reporting requirements and timelines are met.

About you:

Essential skills:

  • Student of Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or equivalent.
  • Part qualified (i.e., ACCA, ACA, CIMA, etc.) preferred.
  • Previous experience of at least 2-3 years in a similar accounting position.
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel and Google spreadsheets.
  • Strong communication skills, service orientation, great analytical skills, and proactive initiative.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (Netsuite, Quickbook, or similar).
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP/IFRS.
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
