About this role

As a Senior Content Designer, you take ownership of the quality and strategic direction of content across your squad or product area.

You bring expert content design judgment, deep user insight, and a collaborative mindset to shape product experiences that are clear, inclusive, and emotionally engaging.

You support junior content designers, influence cross-team content strategy, and play a vital role in driving alignment across product, design, and engineering.

You display an exceptional grasp of design thinking and content design expertise and are comfortable delivering well-thought out ideas to senior stakeholders and driving content design strategy each day.

  • What you’ll do
  • You are responsible for end-to-end content design strategy and execution on a project, from discovery through delivery, launch, and ongoing iteration.
  • Partnering closely with product managers, product designers, and engineers to embed content strategy in product discovery and delivery, shaping scope, trade-offs, and sequencing.
  • Define for exceptional, accessible, and inclusive content that builds trust, clarity, and meaningful user engagement.
  • Comfortable wireframing and prototyping and delivering your work in Figma, with clear rationale, adhering to a design systems and content design principles.
  • Define content design strategy that aligns with business objectives and technical feasibility, ensuring content is not just clear but emotionally intelligent and on brand.
  • Craft high-quality content for complex product flows, interface text, microcopy, error messaging, help content, and documentation, setting the bar for tone, clarity, and consistency.
  • Take a strong role in qualitative and quantitative research methods (user interviews, usability tests, A/B experiments, content audits, analytics) using insight as a core design input.
  • Collaborate deeply, proactively shaping product direction, surfacing trade-offs, and influencing delivery approaches.
  • Drive the evolution of content design style guides, working closely with brand, marketing, and communications teams.
  • Design thoughtful content that enhances usability, emotional impact, and user satisfaction.
  • Balance speed and rigour with strong judgment on when to ship versus polish, especially on complex or fast-moving environments.
  • Support junior content designers on the team and supports in terms of stakeholder management.
  • Lead alignment and collaboration across teams and stakeholders, clearly communicating content design rationale and facilitating strategic working sessions.
  • Set a high standard for product teams, fostering a culture of sound content design practices, constructive feedback, and shared accountability.
  • You are able to justify content design decisions to senior stakeholders with clear rationale and delivers work in a standardised format that you help to evolve.

You are able to deliver multiple variations, informed by insights and can confidently explain the pros and cons of particular solutions.

  • What you need to succeed
  • 5+ years of experience working as a content designer.
  • You are incredibly comfortable with the design aspect of content design – understanding this role is deeper than 'just words'.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills are a must for this role.
  • You must be able to work in a fast-changing environment where processes are still being defined.
  • Exceptional knowledge of content design principles and end-to-end product thinking.
  • Experience with A/B testing, UX metrics, and data interpretation and the ability to drive your own research initiatives.
  • Exceptional product intuition - understanding user needs, business constraints, and technical feasibility.
  • Good knowledge of Figma - how to collaborate, create prototypes, and work to produce agile solutions quickly, with little to no help.
  • Experience using AI a plus. Great if you’ve built workflows/tools using AI.
  • Excellent knowledge of working in cross-functional teams. Able to advocate for content design across various company areas and embed content design early in product planning.
  • Actively contributes to a content design system, creating reusable patterns and components
  • Experience in fintech or Saa S environments is a strong advantage.
  • Strong communication skills - able to explain the "why" behind your decisions
  • Strong stakeholder management is a must for this role
