Where we need your help
The Product Developer is an exciting opportunity to help support the delivery of an ambitious product pipeline, where you will bring ideas to life. You will work closely with the New Product Development (NPD) team to deliver beautiful, sustainable, quality products, on time and at a competitive price. You will champion the customer at every point of the product journey; with agile thinking, pace, passion and team spirit. Your role will span the development across categories, materials and suppliers. From our famed Vermeil to fine 14k solid gold jewellery, semi-precious gemstones, pearls and Lab Grown Diamonds, leather and packaging. No one day will be the same. This role has a requirement to travel to Norfolk 2-3 days per week, to work with the team at our picturesque Holkham office and remote working for part of the week.
What you’ll do
Role Overview
As a Product Developer, you are responsible for the end-to-end execution of our product vision. You will manage the journey from initial design brief to final sealed sample, ensuring every product is delivered with technical precision, commercial viability, and aesthetic excellence. Operating within a high-growth, agile environment, you will act as the primary link between our design intent and our global supply chain.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Development & Execution- End-to-End Ownership: Lead the full development lifecycle, managing technical specifications, CAD approvals, and final sample sign-offs to ensure accuracy and alignment to brand values.
- Technical Design: Utilise Adobe Illustrator to create and amend detailed technical sheets. Propose construction methods, stone settings, and componentry (hinges/clasps) that balance design integrity with cost-efficiency. Work closely with our in-house CAD designer, and creative designer to ensure the design intent is always delivered clearly, using different formats where relevant.
- Supplier Briefing: Deliver clear, high-impact verbal and visual briefings to international suppliers, proactively identifying and mitigating production risks at the outset.
- Critical Path Management: Drive the development timeline with rigor, ensuring all milestones are met for on-time, high-quality launches across diverse product categories. Integrate strongly with the internal NPD team where there are a lot of interdependencies.
- Strategic Communication: Maintain daily, high-level communication with global partners (via email, calls, and WhatsApp) to track progress, unblock bottlenecks, and ensure production transparency.
- Commercial Optimisation: Partner closely with the NPD Commercial team to execute "light touch" resourcing projects, ensuring strategic product alignment within concise timelines.
- Margin Focus: Strong integration with commercial and supply to ensure viability of producing samples, focus on reverse engineering and delivering value for money to the customer.
- Risk Mitigation: Actively participate in weekly Critical Path meetings to identify potential delays and collaborate on cross-functional solutions to keep delivery on track.
- Global Representation: Act as a brand ambassador during international supplier visits, driving development agendas and strengthening strategic manufacturing partnerships.
- Design & Development Meetings: Responsibility to plan and manage your input into the Design & Development meetings with clear presentation of samples, status updates, relevant aesthetic, functional, technical or data points, and clear next step proposals.
- Data & Systems Integrity: Manage the administrative lifecycle of the product, including SKU creation, SEO-compliant naming conventions, and PO tracking to ensure seamless warehouse transfers and photography logistics.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Trade, Brand, and Quality teams to deliver frequent seasonal "newness" presentations.
- Studio Stewardship: Contribute to the maintenance of an inspirational and functional design studio, ensuring the environment supports the team’s creative and technical needs.
- Continuous Improvement: Support ad-hoc commercial and quality projects, utilising market research and a "customer-first" lens to simplify processes and improve product performance.
What you’ll bring
About You- Grow & Adapt: Embraces Change: Adapts quickly, seeks clarity in ambiguity. You are comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where priorities can shift, and you have the initiative to drive projects forward independently.
- Connect & Empower: Collaborates Proactively: Shares updates, supports colleagues willingly. You can confidently present development updates in ranging or critical path meetings, providing clarity on next steps and proposing solutions rather than just highlighting problems.
- Master & Apply: Applies Knowledge with Impact: Adapts learning to improve work, connects effort to results. You thrive on the detail of a critical path and take pride in the accuracy of your technical packs and SKU data. Functional/Technical Expertise: Applies tools accurately, builds foundational knowledge. You will build a deep understanding of construction and manufacturing, allowing you to "speak the language" of our suppliers.
