Where we need your help
The Regional Merchandiser is the regional expert in stock distribution and in-season trading. Reporting to the Senior Regional Merchandiser, you own the day-to-day health of stock across your region's doors, including own stores, concessions and trade partners. Your goal is to maximise sales and protect margin by allocating precisely, rebalancing stock early and ensuring every door has the right product at the right depth at the right time.
You're the link between our central merchandising strategy and what happens on the shop floor. You're the main commercial contact for regional MDs, you turn the plan into store-level actions, and you feed what you learn locally back into central decisions. This role suits someone who is confident with data and enjoys the pace of trading: you combine detail-first rigour with the relationship skills to influence store performance through better inventory management.
What you’ll do
Key Responsibilities
Allocation & Stock Optimisation
- Day-to-Day Allocation: Run allocation for new launches and ongoing replenishment across the region, working within the store tiering framework and capacity limits. Recommend changes to tiering and min/max settings based on how doors perform.
- Stock Rebalancing: Track stock by door and manage inter-branch transfers and stock sharing between channels. Resolve imbalances, prevent stock-outs and reduce terminal stock risk.
- ISA Ownership: Own the In-Store Availability (ISA) for the region. Investigate stock gaps and work with Supply Chain and store teams to fix delivery discrepancies.
- Event Planning: Know the regional events and trading calendar, and adjust replenishment and stock depth ahead of key moments.
Floorset & Launch Execution
- Floorset Delivery: Work with the regional team to make sure the commercial plan lands in store.
- Feedback Loops: Gather regional feedback on customer demand, sizing and capacity. Present it to the Senior Regional Merchandiser and the merchandise planning team to shape future allocation, product mix and buys.
Trade Reporting & Performance
- Weekly Trade Analysis: Produce regional performance reporting by style, category, store and tier. Turn the raw data into clear insights and recommended actions.
Promotional & Trading Support
- Promotional Input & Execution: Give regional input to promotional and sale planning. Trade the region during promotional periods and keep a constant feedback loop with the central team on local performance, challenges and opportunities.
Cross-Functional & Regional Partnership
- MD Liaison: Act as the main merchandising contact for regional teams and MDs. Build relationships that let you influence store performance through better inventory management.
- Trade & S&OP Support: Lead regional trade calls with updates on stock health, upcoming launches, risks and opportunities. Prepare regional data and insight for Trade and S&OP meetings.
- Team Support: Support and guide the Regional Merchandising Assistant on day-to-day allocation, transfers and reporting, and share best practice across the team.
What you’ll bring
This role aligns with the competencies for a Mid-Level (Level 2) role in our Head Office Capability Framework:
Connect & Empower
- Communicates Effectively: You structure communication with purpose and clarity, tailoring stock logic and floor set directions into clear, actionable guidelines for retail teams, concession partners, and regional Managing Directors.
- Collaborates Proactively: You build strong cross-functional partnerships across Merchandising, Supply Chain, VM, and Regional MDs, coordinating stock sharing across channels (Retail, Web, Wholesale) to eliminate friction and maximise global stock availability.
Drive & Deliver
- Dives Deep: You routinely audit complex datasets—including min/max settings, allocation logic, sell-through, and ISA (In-Store Availability) metrics—testing assumptions with data to pinpoint inventory risks and commercial opportunities.
- Focuses on the Right Thing: You prioritise stock depth, breadth, and replenishment pacing for high-impact doors and key trading windows, executing stock consolidations to minimise terminal stock risk and maximise ROI.
Grow & Adapt
- Challenges & Commits: You act as the primary commercial voice in regional trade and S&OP meetings, constructively challenging allocation plans early using evidence, and aligning fully with partners once trading decisions are made.
Master & Apply
- Functional/Technical Expertise: You bring proven expertise in branch merchandising, store tiering architecture, capacity planning, and ISA management. You possess advanced technical proficiency in allocation and replenishment systems (ERP, BI tools) and Excel.
To be successful at Monica Vinader, it helps if you...
- Are hands-on, solutions-focused, and entrepreneurial
- Collaborate openly with humility, honesty, and humour
- Embrace learning, teaching, and personal growth
- Stay resilient, adaptable, and self-motivated in a creative environment
- Speak up when you don’t know - and act fast to figure it out
