Where we need your help

The Area Manager is a crucial, high-impact leadership role at the heart of our UK Retail Commercial Team. This exciting opportunity involves taking full responsibility for a group of boutiques and concessions, driving growth and exemplary performance in the UK, the brand’s home market.

Key Mandates

  • Dedicated Leadership and Coaching: Serve as a dedicated leader and coach for Boutique and Concession Managers.
  • Inspiring Brand Values: Inspire both customers and teams by championing the brand's core values around quality, craftsmanship, and sustainability.
  • Customer Experience: Ensure the highest customer experience standards are consistently upheld.

Key Responsibilities

Commercial Performance & Client Development

  • Drive sales performance and profitability across all key performance indicators (sales, product, service and customer).
  • Motivate, inspire and empower Boutique and Concession Managers to achieve ambitious sales targets, ensuring all employees have goals and productivity targets and receive training and coaching to achieve them.
  • Achieve profitability by effectively managing costs, with exposure and influence on P&L decisions.
  • Utilise data and analysis to rigorously evaluate and report on performance on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis, identifying areas for improvement and putting in place necessary action plans.
  • Develop clienteling strategy for the area and proactively lead teams in executing retail marketing initiatives and engaging events.
  • Champion a proactive best-in-class commercial approach to clienteling, in-store services and customer loyalty, delivering on brand commercial targets and standards.
  • Be connected and “on the pulse” in your local market, holding key stakeholder relationships.

People Leadership & Development

  • Lead and inspire a team of Boutique and Concession Managers, ensuring all locations deliver the highest standards of luxury service aligned with our business values.
  • Drive the personal and professional development of our retail teams through consistent 1:1 coaching, individual performance reviews, and ensuring a cascading culture of feedback throughout the teams.
  • Provide expert guidance, training, and support to Managers, ensuring all aspects of the Boutique and Concession operations are managed effectively and in line with company policies and procedures.
  • Partner with the People and Culture Team to proactively manage poor performers and handle any Employee Relations issues, proactively addressing escalations with professionalism and confidentiality.
  • Oversee the recruitment process for all retail roles, identifying hiring needs, managing related interview processes and ensuring top talent is onboarded to the brand.
  • Identify and grow talent, implementing talent development and succession plans.
  • Use own positive, ambitious and caring attitude to instil inclusive, supportive and high performance culture.

Service Excellence

  • Drive accountability across teams to instil a culture of service excellence and exceeding customer expectations throughout the customer journey.
  • Work in partnership with the Retail Training Manager to support the delivery of all brand, product and service training, ensuring they are fully embedded in the everyday customer journey.
  • Support the successful onboarding of all new team members and managers, ensuring a smooth and effective transition into their roles.

Operational Excellence & Compliance

  • Support the strategic planning and flawless execution of the GTM process across the area.
  • Demonstrate and drive consistently high standards across all aspects of retail operations, including stock management, cleanliness, VM standards and grooming, ensuring boutiques are compliant with all MV brand standards.
  • Responsible for inventory accuracy across locations; oversee stock management process, deliver to stock accuracy thresholds.
  • Responsible for effective staff management, ensuring locations are adequately staffed with absence and annual leave managed efficiently in partnership with Boutique Managers.
  • Ensure policy and procedure compliance across all retail employees in the area.
  • Streamline retail operations, processes and procedures to ensure efficiency, supporting Boutique managers to achieve operational excellence.
