We’re looking for a highly creative, entrepreneurial, and organized individual to expand MongoDB’s AI-native marketing strategy and strengthen our presence across the startup and VC ecosystem in London. This role combines strategy and execution, with a focus on ecosystem engagement, community building, and scalable startup programming.
You will help strengthen MongoDB’s presence among high-growth, venture-backed startups across London by building relationships with founders, venture capital firms, accelerators, and startup communities. In partnership with the broader startup marketing team, you will design and execute programs, events, and partnerships that increase awareness, adoption, and long-term affinity for MongoDB within the startup ecosystem.
As a regional representative for MongoDB, you will support the planning and delivery of startup-focused initiatives such as hackathons, demo nights, founder dinners, and conference‑adjacent activations. This role sits at the intersection of partnerships, community, events, and content, and requires someone who is equally comfortable shaping ideas and driving hands‑on execution.
Position Expectations:
- Serve as the MongoDB representative within the London startup ecosystem: Build and maintain strong relationships across the London startup community, including founders, operators, VCs, accelerators, and key ecosystem partners.
- Drive high‑value startup acquisition: Develop and execute a targeted strategy to engage and convert high‑potential startups in the region into the MongoDB for Startups program.
- Expand MongoDB’s physical presence in London: Develop and execute a regional event strategy focused on high‑impact founder programming, including VC‑partnered events, demo days, hackathons, founder dinners, and other community activations.
- Partner with startups to highlight success: Work with internal teams and startup customers to surface and develop compelling stories showcasing startups building on MongoDB.
- Own cross‑functional alignment for the regional startup audience: Collaborate with teams such as MongoDB Ventures, Revenue Marketing, Strategic Events, and DevRel to integrate startup‑focused programming and ensure regional initiatives effectively reach founders and developers.
- Measure impact and continuously optimize: Monitor and track success metrics for startup engagement, such as attendance quality, funded‑founder participation, program applications, and use insights to refine strategy and programming.
Qualifications:
- Have 6+ years of experience in marketing, community, ecosystem, or events roles focused on startups, developers, or technical founders.
- Have experience leading projects or programs and collaborating across teams, with the ability to drive initiatives from strategy through execution.
- Possess familiarity with the London startup ecosystem, ideally with relationships across founders, VCs, accelerators, and key founder communities.
- Have experience working in or closely with startups or venture capital firms, with a solid understanding of how early‑stage companies operate and grow.
- Thrive in fast‑moving environments, helping build and scale programs, partnerships, and community initiatives.
- Be highly organized and execution‑oriented, able to manage multiple initiatives and stakeholders while delivering high‑quality programs.
- Be data‑driven, able to track key engagement metrics and communicate the impact of regional initiatives.
- Communicate clearly and confidently with founders, investors, and senior internal stakeholders.
- Operate with a high degree of ownership and initiative, collaborating with a globally distributed team while maintaining an active presence within the London startup ecosystem.
