PURPOSE OF THE ROLEInsurance is the largest and most established vertical within MSM, with strong brand recognition and a complex, high-value partner ecosystem. It plays a critical role in driving overall business performance and future growth. As the market continues to evolve, with regulatory change and increasing competition, this is a pivotal time to shape how we trade, partner and grow. The Motor channel sits at the heart of this, offering significant opportunity to drive both immediate performance and longer-term strategic value. This is a high-impact leadership role with end-to-end ownership of commercial performance across the Motor channel. You will lead an integrated commercial function, bringing together trading and partnerships to drive revenue, improve partner performance and strengthen MSMâs market position. The role combines strategy, execution and leadership, with accountability for delivering sustainable growth in a complex, regulated environment. You will operate as a key member of the Insurance leadership team, influencing direction, shaping priorities and driving delivery across the business.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOINGAs Head of Commercial â Motor, youâll own the performance, strategy and growth of the Motor channel, driving strong commercial outcomes while building a highâperforming, scalable team.
- Full ownership of Motor channel revenue, margin and growth targets, with accountability for commercial performance
- Lead trading strategy and delivery, using insight and data to identify opportunities, close performance gaps and maximise ROI
- Build and execute a clear channel and partner roadmap, aligned to wider business strategy
- Develop and manage senior partner relationships, delivering joint plans and new revenue opportunities
- Lead crossâfunctional initiatives to improve conversion, proposition and market competitiveness
- Ensure strong governance, regulatory compliance and financial controls, delivering good customer outcomes
- Inspire, develop and lead a highâperforming team, embedding accountability, pace and ownership
- Act as a key member of the Insurance leadership team, shaping and delivering the wider commercial agenda
- Strong knowledge of the Insurance industry, including key commercial drivers, market dynamics and partner landscape
- Experience within Ecommerce and/or Financial Services, operating in a commercially driven environment
- Understanding of price comparison platforms, including trading levers, ranking and conversion dynamics
- Strong understanding of FCA regulatory requirements, particularly in relation to insurance products and customer outcomes
- Proven experience in leading channel trading and owning commercial performance, including revenue growth and optimization
- Demonstrated ability to build and lead strategic partner relationships, delivering joint commercial success
- Strong commercial judgement and decision-making capability, balancing short-term performance with long-term value creation
- Ability to influence and align senior stakeholders across a complex organization
- Experience in leading and developing high-performing teams
- Ability to translate data and insight into clear commercial strategy and action
- Experience in high-growth or transformation environments, driving change and continuous improvement
