About MoneyGram

We are rebuilding one of the most trusted names in fintech and doing it like a startup. MoneyGram has been a global leader in cross-border payments for decades, and now we are entering our most exciting chapter yet: a full-speed, full-scale re-founding led by Anthony Sohoo, with the backing of private equity firm Madison Dearborn Partners. With a globally recognized brand, deep infrastructure across 200+ countries, and millions of loyal customers, the foundation is strong and the scale is unreal. We are now reimagining just how much further we can take it.

We are rebuilding our growth engine - faster, smarter, and more customer-obsessed than ever. Fewer layers. Sharper strategy. Disciplined execution. A bias for action. We are looking for bold operators and builders ready to run at this opportunity, shape the future of a scaled business, and leave their mark.

About the role

As part of this transformation, we are building a best-in-class performance marketing engine and we are hiring a Director of Growth Marketing to lead it. Reporting to the Chief Marketing Officer, this is a rare opportunity to step into a global leadership role with scale and speed. You will manage multi-million-dollar budgets, lead strategy and execution across 200+ countries, work alongside some of the best operators and mentors in the industry, and build and grow a high-performing team. From go-to-market launches to always-on acquisition, this is your chance to redefine how we fuel our next phase of growth.

If performance adrenaline is your fuel, and you are ready to build a category-defining growth engine with real autonomy and speed, we would love to talk.

What You’ll Do

  • Set and own the global performance marketing vision - driving strategy and execution across paid search, paid social, programmatic, affiliate, influencers, organic social, and emerging channels. You won’t just hit forecasts - you’ll raise the bar.
  • Build a world-class acquisition engine that delivers growth with precision. You’ll obsess over unit economics, efficiency metrics, and payback windows to maximize impact and scalability.
  • Lead strategic planning and budget allocation across markets, channels, and segments - ensuring every dollar works harder through data-backed decisions and ruthless prioritization.
  • Drive a culture of high-velocity experimentation - managing a structured test-and-learn framework, accelerating feedback loops, and pushing the pace of innovation across all funnel stages.
  • Hire, mentor, and retain the best performance marketers on the planet - fostering a high-accountability, high-creativity team with the ambition to win globally.
  • Partner across the business - from Product, Pricing, Analytics, Finance, CRM, and Regional Marketing - to tightly align growth strategies, audience segmentation, and full-funnel performance.
  • Own the relationship with key platforms - including Google, Meta, Apple, TikTok, and others - to unlock first-mover advantages, exclusive opportunities, and co-marketing scale.
  • Co-create a performance creative machine - alongside our Performance Creative Director, you will build an agile, scalable, insight-driven creative function to unlock further growth within your channels.
  • Lead go-to-market strategies for major product launches, geographic expansions, and seasonal spikes - bringing structure, urgency, and repeatable success.
  • Drive innovation across the stack - from AI-powered creative optimization, incrementality testing, modern measurement frameworks, etc.
  • Stay ahead of the market - monitoring trends, customer behaviour, competitive moves, and platform shifts to surface bold new opportunities and respond with speed.

What We’re Looking For

  • A proven performance marketing leader with 10-15+ years of experience driving growth at scale in global B2C environments (ideally in a scaleup).
  • Extensive hands-on experience managing multi-million-dollar budgets across a complex channel mix and international footprint.
  • A data-obsessed, detail-oriented strategist who loves diving into metrics, dashboards, and customer journeys.
  • A customer-first operator who can toggle between the 30,000-foot view and in-channel execution.
  • Experience leading and scaling high-performing teams across geographies and time zones.
  • Fintech, financial services, or regulated industry experience is a strong advantage - but not a must.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-change environment - this isn’t maintenance-mode growth. The rocket ship has already taken off!
  • A clear, persuasive communicator who can align stakeholders, advocate for investment, and translate results into insight and action.
  • Must be based in the US or UK.

The process

We believe in keeping the process clear, fast, and meaningful. Here’s what to expect:

  • Initial screening call
  • Subject matter interview
  • Technical task interview
  • Final vibe check
