General Summary

This position reports to the Logistics and Freight Manager or their designee; is located in Banbury, UK. When Trackside this position reports to the Trackside Operations Manager with the primary responsibility is to build, setup, and dismantle of the trackside infrastructure, as well as overseeing the safe and compliant loading and unloading of sea, air, and road freight. When at the factory the primary responsibility is the unloading and loading, maintenance and service of the team’s sea freight kits ensuring they are complete, compliant, in good working order and satisfying the teams expectations. This, along with the safe and compliant loading and unloading of the Air and Road Freight. The role is key to the smooth running of the team’s operations at all venues.

Key Responsibilities

Trackside

  • Promote teamwork and effective communications to develop working relationships between all personnel and departments
  • Help in the unloading in a safe and compliant way of the sea freight.
  • Construct and maintain the garage infrastructure system to a standard expected by the team.
  • Help in loading / unloading of the Air and Road Freight.
  • Take on support roles during the race weekend in a safe and professional manner.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Trackside Operations Manager or their designee.

Factory

  • Promote teamwork and effective communications to develop working relationships between all personnel and departments
  • Service, maintain, build, test, repair of the team’s sea freight kits before packing them up and sending them onwards to its next race weekend.
  • Help in loading / unloading of the Air freight and Road Freight trucks.
  • Take on support roles while at the factory in a safe and professional manner.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Freight & Logistics Manager or their designee.

Other Key Responsibilities

  • Maintenance of all pit equipment in accordance with schedules and presentation standards.
  • Responsibility for the cleanliness and condition of your work area, the garage, and all tools and equipment both at factory and trackside.
  • Follow all safety regulations in all venues.

Education And Work Experience

GCSE, High School diploma or equivalent required. Ideally with experience with insulation and mechanical projects with repairs to equipment. Work Experience in a professional motorsport environment or other high-pressured industry is preferred but not essential.

Specialized Knowledge And Skills

  • Ability to diagnose equipment faults and create solutions to solve associated issues.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to use initiative where appropriate.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to overcome technical and operational issues.
  • Ability to follow complex regulations related to shipment of materials and facility maintenance requirements.
  • Work to a consistently high standard in stressful and time sensitive situations.
  • Quick decision-making skills whilst working through problems in a scientific and analytical way.
  • Work well within a team environment with personnel at all levels.

  • Hold a valid Category B driving License.

Work Environment Physical Demands

An ability to work and prioritize within a high pressure, time sensitive environment while retaining a methodical approach is essential. The role will require extensive domestic and international travel and a willingness to work long and flexible hours including weekends.

This position may require lifting to 50 pounds, repeated bending, squatting and manual dexterity. Fast-paced work environment requiring heavy mental demands. Work environment includes machinery, race cars, 7-post and other rigs, grinding debris, and hazardous fluids. All employees must ensure compliance with the Company Health and Safety Policy, and all relevant other statutory Health and Safety legislation.
