About Us
The Moneyfacts Research Foundation has been set up to widen research and knowledge of interest rates - their use and effects. The Foundation's objectives are to advance by all available means the education, research, and understanding of economics, particularly interest rates, their use and purpose, and their economic, monetary, and domestic objectives and consequences. This includes the study of the skills and expertise required in interest rate setting, data collection, and analysis.
The Foundation is supported by Moneyfacts Group plc, the UK's leading provider of retail financial product data, which has been pioneering financial comparison technology for over 35 years. Moneyfacts' data is used by virtually every bank and building society in the UK, the Bank of England, Financial Conduct Authority, Financial Ombudsman Service, HM Treasury, Prudential Regulatory Authority, and UK Finance. INTEREST is published every six weeks, to fit in with MPC meetings, focusing specifically on inflation and rate setting, and seeks to identify the effects, positive or negative, that interest rates have on the economy.
