Moneyfacts' data is used throughout the UK financial industry, including by the Bank of England, HM Treasury, and the UK Government. Virtually every bank and building society in the UK uses Moneyfacts' product and market data services.
This role is an exciting opening to join a dynamic and growing business whose business model and strategy is underpinned by the provision of accurate and up-to-date financial information.
This role is a great opportunity to join a high-quality financial data gathering team. The department encompasses creation and maintenance of datasets across all personal finance products (including mortgages, savings, loans, current accounts, credit cards, etc.). There is considerable scope for the successful applicant to add value to the business in terms of process improvements. You will be expected to learn quickly, with the view to gaining extensive knowledge of the financial services industry and the products on offer, and ideally will be able to work to a high standard across a number of different product areas.
Please note: this role is not an IT-based data analyst role requiring use of SQL, Python, or PowerBI. Our Data Handlers primarily use Microsoft Excel.
Key Responsibilities- Financial product data gathering and input/extraction and analysis
- Production of financial charts and figures for national press publications
- Relationship management with financial services providers regarding the provision of data
- Evaluate products to aid in the selection of best buys
- Summarising product changes
- Support for internal projects and investigations
- Subject matter expert for product area
- Ability to work together as part of a team to deliver up-to-date financial information to short timescales
- Essential: Minimum 5 GCSEs grades A*-C (new grading 9-4), including Maths and English; 2 x A Levels, or equivalent
- Desirable: Educated to degree level, or equivalent experience in financial services industry or similar sector
- Essential: A focus on numerical accuracy is key for the role combined with a logical approach to tasks
- Ability to handle large volumes of data in a clear and structured way
- Good communication and relationship management skills
- Analytical and methodical approach to problem solving
- Ability to seek and identify efficiency improvements that deliver benefits to the business
- Able to set high personal standards, use initiative, persuade others, recommend improvements, and influence strategy
- Articulate and audience focused
- Ability to multi-task and work under pressure
- Basic Microsoft Excel skills essential, further training will be provided
- Desirable: Knowledge and experience of the financial services industry and products; Previous experience working in a retail banking environment
Excellent salary – commensurate with experience
HoursFull time or part time available. Full time hours are 35 per week, Monday-Friday. Fully office based. No remote/hybrid working.
