The Role
We are looking to recruit an Events Manager with prior experience of working across all parts of delivering successful revenue generating B2B events. They will work with our Events team to deliver best in class events to clients across the financial services and banking industry. The successful applicant will be responsible for delivery of key Moneyfacts events including large scale awards ceremonies and smaller client events. Working alongside the rest of the events team to ensure Moneyfacts events are best in class, whilst remaining independent and trustworthy.
This is an exceptional role that doesn't come up often. The role responsibilities include:
- Full event budget management
- Ownership and monitoring of the full event marketing plan
- Coordinating entry processes
- Working with sales teams to optimise attendance at the awards ceremonies
- Guest/attendee logistics, including managing table bookings
- Liaising with Sponsors
- Oversee the smooth running of each event
- Communicating with and assessing new suppliers
- Management of post-event communication
- Visiting venues
- Attending relevant events industry conferences
- Attendance at the awards is a requirement of the role as well as visits to and from London and will therefore require overnight stays and out of hours work
The role would suit someone who has worked for a member-based association as well as in a corporate environment, and is looking for the next step up in their career.
Skills and Experience Required:
Essential:
- Prefer 3+ years prior experience in a revenue generating Events role, with involvement across all parts of the event
- Confident communicator, with ability to deal with all stakeholders including sales colleagues, venues, senior management, and clients
- Previous experience of using social media tools across multiple channels to support commercial marketing objectives
- Demonstrable skills in using Microsoft Excel for event planning purposes
- Ability to prioritise a busy workload, maximising use of time in between events
- Project management skills, ideally with experience of using project management tools
- Excellent customer service skills
- High level of attention to detail
- Ability to contribute ideas, not just a processor
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to work calmly under pressure
Desirable:
- Previous experience of sponsor liaison
- Prior experience of working for an in-house Events team
- Experience and knowledge of advanced ticketing systems
- Familiarity of third-party email systems would be beneficial, specifically Dotdigital
- Familiar with using content management systems, ideally Umbraco
- Experience in building mass participation surveys, analysing results and presenting them in a suitable format
- Knowledge of event specific health and safety requirements
Hours:
Full time 35 hours per week Monday-Friday. Fully office based, no remote/hybrid. Some UK travel and overnight stays.
Salary:
£30,000-£40,000 per annum depending on skills and experience.
