Job Brief
Weâre looking for an experienced Design Lead to join our growing team and take our brand and creative function to new heights. As a designer with impeccable craft, an eye for detail, and a passion for branding and creativeâled advertising, you will oversee the strategic development and endâtoâend execution of all brand and creative design initiatives.
What youâll do
As the most senior designer on the Brand and Creative team, youâll be responsible for the Moneybox visual identity, setting the bar for âwhat good looks likeâ and designing assets that are not only beautifully crafted but commercially effective. This means adverts that stand out, illustrations that engage our users, and content and communications designs that inspire them to take action.
- Collaborate with copywriters, motion designers, and other crossâfunctional stakeholders (UI, Content, Product) to oversee the endâtoâend delivery of advertisements, content, and other design assets.
- Ensure the design team is deeply involved throughout the project lifecycle, through excellent stakeholder management and the production of creative response presentations, mood boards, and storyboards.
- As a leader in the Brand and Creative Team, ensure that your passion for design and the standards you set inspire your reports, the wider Brand and Creative team, and the business as a whole.
- Manage a small team of designers, taking responsibility for their output and career development while allocating resources effectively to balance highâpriority business needs.
- Join regular team pitch sessions, bringing creative concepts, industry trends, and customer/insightâled ideas in response to briefs, our brand strategy and business targets.
- Lead creative brainstorming sessions with the wider team and related crossâfunctional teams for larger projects.
- Act as a brand guardian for our visual identity within the business, maintaining and evolving the brand guidelines where necessary.
- Ensure consistency across every touchpoint and lead crossâfunctional design sharing sessions to relevant teams on proper brand usage.
- Support the Head of Brand and Creative as a primary guardian of the brand, acting as a point of contact across the business.
- Oversee the organisation of design assets and establish design workflows, processes, and tools (including AI) to maximise the teamâs speed, quality, and output.
- Manage the relationship with external freelancers where relevant, providing clear creative direction to ensure output aligns with brand standards.
- Work with stakeholders to track design and advertising performance against KPIs, using data to iterate, test, and optimise creative solutions for maximum commercial impact.
- Champion the brand, influencing and inspiring designers across Moneybox, advocating for polished, accessible, and magical brand experiences that set us apart as bestâinâclass across the industry.
Who you are
Have 8+ years of experience in Brand and Creative design, capable of working both conceptually and handsâon. Possess a portfolio of beautifully crafted designs spanning digital, print, and advertising. Demonstrate mastery of brand design principles, tools, and methodologies, ensuring high quality in every deliverable. Possess strong conceptual skills, demonstrating a holistic view to creative response that considers motion, copy, and design. Bring 2+ years of management experience, with a track record of mentoring designers to set the team up for success. Offer strong project management and stakeholder management skills, able to balance creativity with commercial pragmatism and prioritisation. Communicate clearly, articulating design rationale effectively to build relationships across the business. Thrive in a fastâpaced environment, using lightweight processes and quick iteration to make a significant impact. Take full ownership of your work, obsessing over the details while remaining curious and eager to learn new skills. Use your enthusiasm and positive mindset to inspire and motivate your team, setting the standard for leadership and professionalism within the Brand and Creative department, and wider Marketing Team. Working Policy
We have a hybrid policy that includes 2 days from our London office and 3 from home. If the role states it is either hybrid or remote, candidates must be based within the UK.
