What you'll be doing: The Group Accounting Manager oversees the financial accounting and closing processes for the company and its subsidiaries. This role ensures the accuracy, completeness, and timely delivery of financial reports in compliance with statutory regulations. Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, the position leads a lean team, manages core banking, and drives process automation across the business.
- Key Responsibilities:
- Month-End: Drive enhancements to financial systems, automation, and reporting capabilities to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
- Strategic Projects: Maintain significant involvement in high-level corporate projects, including entity restructuring and system integrations.
- Team Leadership: Directly manage, support, and mentor 2 direct reports.
Requirements:
- Strong experience of financial reporting, and month-end close processes within a medium-sized and multi-currency organisation.
- Strong balance sheet control, reconciliation, and financial governance experience.
- Experience supporting external audits and statutory reporting processes.
- Technical Skills:
- Excellent advanced Excel skills with a clear ability to handle complex accounts and data sets; Good understanding of IFRS application.
- Strong familiarity with issues relating to accounting, payroll, tax, and compliance reporting within the UK and other EU countries.
- Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar.

- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and financial interpretation skills.
- High attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy and quality.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and influencing skills.
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced and evolving environment.

- Able to manage multiple priorities and meet demanding deadlines.
- Experience within a regulated, financial services, or mid-cap organisation.
- Exposure to private equity-backed, high-growth, or fast-paced business environments.
- Experience using financial consolidation and reporting tools.
- Experience with Power BI or other financial reporting and business intelligence tools.

Work Location: The primary place of work is Pockit’s headquarters in Marylebone, London, where the role will be expected to be in the office 3 days a week (Monday, Tuesday and Thursday).
