Mondrian Alpha has partnered with a leading Hedge Fund, seeking a Tax Analyst to join its growing UK Tax team in London. This newly created role presents an exciting opportunity to support the Head of Tax and the broader Finance function, taking on a central role in managing the firm\’s expanding tax affairs across multiple jurisdictions. As the business grows in both assets under management and structural complexity, this hire will play a key role in enhancing operational efficiency, overseeing compliance processes, and supporting strategic tax planning initiatives.

The Tax Analyst will collaborate closely with internal finance and non-finance professionals, as well as external advisors, acting as a crucial link between departments. Core responsibilities will include supporting corporate and fund tax compliance processes, ensuring filings are accurate and deadlines are consistently met. The individual will manage the relationship with third-party tax advisors, facilitating timely provision of information and reviewing external deliverables. Additional responsibilities will involve operational tax analysis of traded instruments, monitoring changes to applicable tax laws, contributing to financial planning and forecasting efforts, and ensuring tax reliefs and efficiencies are fully realised. The role will also support corporate structuring efforts as the firm continues to expand and will be instrumental in developing scalable and robust tax procedures across multiple jurisdictions.

The ideal candidate will have 1–3 years of post-qualification tax experience, ideally within the funds or broader financial services sector. A strong understanding of UK corporate and partnership tax is essential, while knowledge of corporate and partnership structures, is highly desirable. Exposure to operational or product tax within fund structures will be advantageous. Familiarity with UK personal tax, as well as EU/UK financial services regulations, would be helpful but is not required. The role demands excellent communication skills and the confidence to communicate tax matters to non-specialist stakeholders. A proactive and detail-oriented approach, combined with a desire to build scalable processes in a fast-paced environment, is key.
