I'm working with a leading hedge fund in London that is seeking an experienced Software Developer to join their Technology team in London.
This is a front-footed, business-facing engineering role focused on building and scaling tools that support mortgage origination, valuation, analytics, and reporting — one of the firm's most strategically important investment areas.
As part of this team, you'll design and deliver production-grade Python applications that automate workflows, modernise legacy systems, and bridge the gap between current and next-generation infrastructure. You'll work directly with stakeholders across investments, risk, finance, and operations, driving tangible business impact through technology.
Responsibilities
Build and maintain Python-based tools supporting mortgage analytics, valuation, and reporting.
Develop production-grade applications and contribute to the migration of legacy models.
Identify automation opportunities across data pipelines, analytics, and reporting.
Collaborate with business teams to gather requirements and deliver scalable solutions.
Champion best practices in testing, documentation, and maintainability.
Requirements
Strong proficiency in Python.
Experience delivering solutions in business-facing environments.
Exposure to mortgages, fixed income, or structured assets desirable.
Familiarity with Rust or C++ beneficial but not required.
Strong problem‐solving, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
