I’m working with a leading global multi-strategy hedge fund that is seeking a Software Developer to join its Trading Systems team in London. This is a high-impact front-office engineering role where you will become the primary Trading Systems presence in the London office, operating with significant ownership and autonomy while partnering closely with engineering teams globally.
The individual will work closely with traders, portfolio managers, and operations staff on a daily basis, acting as a trusted technical partner across all systems-related matters. The role spans the full trade lifecycle and involves a mix of greenfield engineering, platform enhancement, workflow automation, and ongoing production support depending on business priorities at any given time.
The environment includes a mixture of proprietary systems and third-party trading platforms including FlexTrade, Neovest, Bloomberg, and WEX, with a core stack centred around C#, Python, TypeScript, SQL, Docker/Kubernetes, and AWS.
What You Will Be Doing- Owning delivery of trading systems solutions from requirements through deployment and post-release support
- Working closely with traders, PMs, and operations teams to deliver business-critical solutions
- Supporting and developing systems across OMS, execution, market data, risk, and position/P&L workflows
- Driving automation and platform improvements across front office infrastructure
- Responding to time-sensitive production issues with urgency and clear communication
- Collaborating with a global development team across multiple offices
- 5+ years of software development experience within financial services
- Strong experience with C# and modern backend engineering practices
- Hands-on experience with trading systems environments (OMS, EMS, market data, execution, and/or position management systems)
- Strong understanding of front office workflows and production-critical systems
- Comfortable operating in a highly front office-facing environment with direct PM/trader interaction
- Strong ownership mentality with the confidence to operate independently and proactively drive improvements
- Experience with FlexTrade, Neovest, Bloomberg, WEX, or similar trading platforms
- Exposure to AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, or distributed systems environments
- Buy-side or hedge fund experience
