A leading boutique hedge fund is hiring a Network Engineer to own its core network and infrastructure, working directly with IT, operations, and the wider business to keep the environment resilient and well documented.
This is a hands-on technical role with full ownership of network design, build and operations. You’ll manage Cisco and Fortinet networking, VMware virtualisation, Kubernetes and AWS, automate infrastructure , using Terraform and Ansible, and lead the migration away from the managed service provider. You’ll shape the core infrastructure environment end-to-end.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own and evolve the firm’s core network and infrastructure from initial design through to daily operations
- Manage the relationship with the external managed service provider and hold them to clear operational standards
- Administer and maintain the Cisco and Fortinet network estate alongside VMware virtualisation
- Operate Kubernetes and AWS environments to keep infrastructure resilient and well documented
- Build out infrastructure automation using Terraform and Ansible, applying infrastructure-as-code principles
Technical Requirements:
- 10+ years of hands-on experience owning network design, build and operations end-to-end
- Practical experience with Cisco and Fortinet networking equipment
- Working knowledge of VMware virtualisation
- Experience operating Kubernetes and AWS environments
- Experience automating infrastructure with Terraform and Ansible, or equivalent infrastructure-as-code tools
- Experience managing a managed service provider relationship and supporting the move from that provider to in-house infrastructure.
