My client, a technology-driven global proprietary trading firm, is seeking an experienced Network Engineer to join their team in London. As part of this well-established and highly regarded firm, you'll play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and maintaining the network infrastructure that underpins a fast-paced financial trading environment.

This will involve managing and optimising production infrastructure, collaborating closely with systems administrators and security analysts, and ensuring high availability across colocations, cross-connects, and the broader network estate.

The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of network engineering experience within financial services, ideally in a hedge fund or similar environment. You should bring strong knowledge of networking protocols such as TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, and VPNs, alongside hands-on experience with hardware and software from vendors including Cisco, Arista, and F5.

Familiarity with network monitoring tools such as Nagios or Victoria Metrics, a solid understanding of network security best practices, and professional certifications such as CCNP or JNCIP would be highly desirable.

Given the collaborative nature of this role, you will work closely with cross-functional IT teams and business stakeholders, balancing day-to-day support responsibilities with longer-term infrastructure projects.
