We are working exclusively with a boutique hedge fund based in Central London to appoint a Deputy CFO on a permanent basis.
The firm manages assets across a multi-strategy fund of funds and a special opportunities vehicle covering equities, fixed income, real estate, private equity and derivatives.
This role is the senior no. 2 in the finance function, sitting directly beneath the CFO/COO - it is a hands-on, automation-first position requiring someone who builds and owns reporting infrastructure as much as they oversee it.
You will own financial and management reporting across both the fund and the management company, including monthly investment committee reports, performance analysis, and fund finance outputs.
Power Query, VBA and SQL are central to how the function operates - the expectation is that you will write, maintain and improve the automation and reporting tools the team depends on daily.
You will also liaise with fund administrators, auditors, and third-party service providers, with a broader mandate to drive process improvement across the finance function.
We are looking for a finance professional with 12+ years of broad experience in a buy-side firm.
It is important to have experience leveraging tools including Power Query, VBA and SQL.
Familiarity with alternative fund structures and NAV reporting in an alternatives context is important, as well as small team management.
The role is based 4 days per week at a prime Central London location with good flexibility on working hours.
The firm offers a strong base and bonus aligned to the hedge fund industry.
They offer genuine autonomy from day one, within a firm with great culture and long-tenured team - and the environment is one where contribution is recognised and rewarded without the politics of a larger organisation.
