Overview
We are partnering with a top-performing credit investment fund as they make their first dedicated hire into data and technology. This is a rare chance to step into a boutique environment (AUM £1bn+) and take full ownership of the firm’s analytics, tooling, and data strategy from day one.
What Makes This Opportunity Unique
- First mover advantage – the very first internal hire focused on technology and data.
- Direct partnership with the COO, portfolio managers, and senior leadership, giving unmatched visibility.
- Exposure beyond pure analytics – supporting investments, operations, compliance, and investor relations.
- Entrepreneurial runway – broad scope for progression and the ability to define your own impact in a lean, collegiate team.
Key Responsibilities
- Take ownership of the firm’s internal analytics platform (Power BI) — building, enhancing, and scaling dashboards and models.
- Design and develop a proprietary AI-driven natural language search tool to query historical models, research notes, and transaction data.
- Build data visualisation and reporting tools to support fund managers, client reporting, and regulatory/compliance teams.
- Identify and implement automation opportunities across operational and investment workflows.
- Manage external vendors and consultants, overseeing outsourced builds and integrations as needed.
Core Skill Requirements
- Power BI – proven ability to design data models, dashboards, and reports.
- SQL – ability to write, optimise, and maintain queries across complex datasets.
- Python (or equivalent scripting languages) – practical experience preferred; willingness to upskill essential.
- Excel – fluent in modelling, reporting, and cross-functional integration.
- Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions, engaging with non-technical stakeholders.
Who We’re Looking For
- 2–4 years’ experience in data analysis, consulting, fintech, or financial services.
- Strong academics – First-Class or high 2:1 degree from a Russell Group university (STEM/quantitative preferred).
- Commercially sharp — able to link data insights to investment logic.
- Excellent communicator, comfortable working directly with senior stakeholders.
- Entrepreneurial mindset – thrives in high-trust, high-autonomy environments.
Why Apply?
- A unique chance to build the data and technology function at a high-performing fund.
- High visibility and direct access to decision-makers.
- A culture of ownership, trust, and commercial impact — not siloed IT.
- Competitive compensation with strong bonus potential, five-day office culture, and a clear long-term growth trajectory.
If you’re looking for ownership, complex problem-solving, and real exposure to investment decision-making — this is the one.
