This role sits within an incredibly successful hedge fund. Due to the success of the firm, they are hiring a new financial controller position which will work on various projects to help facilitate further growth. This role reports to a high-calibre Finance Director and sits within a collaborative Group Accounts team of 8.
The successful candidate will help oversee the finance function across management companies in seven global jurisdictions, offering wide-ranging exposure across core finance, tax, regulatory, and operational areas. Responsibilities include managing external advisors in the preparation of statutory and management accounts (under FRS 102 and US GAAP), leading regulatory reporting (including ICARA), and overseeing audits for both regulated and unregulated entities.
The position also plays a key role in developing financial planning models—such as budgets, forecasts, FP&A, and liquidity analysis—while producing internal reports and ad hoc analysis for senior stakeholders. Additionally, the role supports the enhancement of internal controls and contributes to the automation and optimisation of finance processes through the development of proprietary tools.
The team is looking for fully qualified candidates with a minimum of 5 years post qualified experience. Prior experience working at a hedge fund is highly desirable (must have experience working within another buy-side firm if not hedge fund) and audit experience is a plus. The firm is focused on hiring high calibre individuals and hence strong academics are important for this role.
This is a newly created, critical hire for the business so the team are prepared to offer strong compensation which will offer a significant increase on your current total compensation. They have modern offices in Mayfair and a collaborative and progressive culture.
