Overview
A leading London hedge fund is seeking a commercially minded and technically strong Financial Controller to join its high-performing finance team.
Responsibilities
- Lead the firm\’s financial management and reporting requirements across group finance and controllership, with a focus on delivering accurate and timely reporting.
- Oversee treasury management, liquidity oversight, and contribute to finance transformation initiatives.
- Manage financial modelling, planning and analysis, and supervise a team of three accountants within a wider function of eight.
- Collaborate with senior leadership on scenario planning, growth strategies and operational solutions to improve efficiency and scalability.
- Engage with Workday (fully embedded) and external advisors to support strategic impact rather than administrative tasks.
- Provide high-level input to influence decision-making at the highest level while maintaining a flat, high-calibre team culture.
Qualifications
- Qualified accountant (ACA/CA or equivalent) with approximately 3–6 years’ PQE.
- Experience managing teams and reviewing work, ideally trained in Big-4 with a strong academic background.
- Combination of technical rigour and commercial acumen; ability to move between detail and strategy in a demanding, intellectually curious environment.
