Financial Controller – Fast-Growth Private Equity Firm – Up to £120k plus 50-100% bonus
This role is with a boutique Private Equity firm that has doubled in size over the last three years. The successful candidate will be hands-on and work closely with the Finance Director to scale the finance function and support growth.
Overview
This is a hands-on Financial Controller role responsible for the management company’s day-to-day finance, coordinating outsourced providers across APAC, and leading the month-end close with a focus on control, accuracy, and timeliness. The team uses Xero and the firm aims to maximise its use across the group, while developing automated reports and dashboards.
Responsibilities
- Lead the multi-entity month-end close, review journals, accruals, prepayments and intercompany eliminations prepared by a junior accountant.
- Deliver monthly budget and forecast packs with insightful commentary.
- Support annual statutory accounts under UK GAAP/IFRS and lead communication with auditors.
- Collaborate with Finance Director and coordinate outsourced providers across APAC.
- Drive the improvement of the control framework and streamline processes.
- Create automated standardized reports and develop dashboards.
Qualifications
- Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent) with 3+ years’ post-qualification experience in Financial Services, ideally within Private Equity / Private Credit.
- Knowledge of Xero highly desirable.
- Ability to read and manipulate Python/SQL code is advantageous.
- Interest in working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- On a maximum one-month notice period.
Remuneration and Work Environment
Base salary is competitive with a substantial increase available, plus a 50-100% bonus. Modern offices are in West London with a hybrid working model.
