Our client, a leading global hedge fund, is seeking a highly motivated Desktop Support Analyst to join their growing global systems team in London. The firm has experienced significant growth over the past 15 years and now manages assets exceeding $10bn, with a presence in key global financial hubs.

As a Desktop Support Analyst, you will be the primary point of contact for all technical support queries from the London user base and will support other offices globally. This role offers the opportunity to develop your technical skill set while providing essential support in a fast-paced trading environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical support for a broad range of financial software and tools, with an emphasis on troubleshooting and delivering excellent customer service.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for all technical support issues within the London office.
  • Collaborate with various teams across the organization to resolve issues and improve workflows.
  • Participate in project work and contribute to the development of internal systems and processes.
  • Support and maintain workstations, including hardware break/fix, desk setups, and software installations.
  • Manage market data applications such as Bloomberg, ensuring optimal performance and troubleshooting when needed.
Essential Skills:
  • 3+ years of relevant commercial experience, ideally in a similar industry.
  • VMWare Horizon Experience.
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft operating systems (Windows 10/11) and Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel & Outlook, SharePoint & OneDrive.
  • Experience supporting market data applications (e.g., Bloomberg).
  • Proficiency in PowerShell scripting is highly advantageous.
  • Basic understanding of TCP/IP and networking stack.
  • Experience with hardware troubleshooting and workstation setups.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment.
  • Excellent customer service skills and the ability to communicate with users at all technical levels.
  • Strong team player who can work autonomously and thrive in a dynamic environment.
  • Aware of cybersecurity best practices.
