I’m working with a high-performing buy-side investment firm that is looking to hire an experienced Business Analyst to help design and deliver a new internal cashflow platform. This is not a replacement role and not a short-term project. It’s a greenfield, firm-wide initiative with long-term backing, genuine senior sponsorship, and real influence over how the business operates as it continues to grow.

The opportunity: As investment firms scale, cashflow processes that once worked well enough start to show strain. This business has reached the point where it makes sense to step back, reassess, and build something properly. The aim here is to understand how cashflow works across the organisation today, where the pressure points are, and how that can be translated into a system that is robust, scalable, and fit for the future. You’ll be working closely with Treasury, Finance, Front Office and Technology, helping to shape a platform that will be built out over time rather than rushed out of the door.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Acting as the lead Business Analyst on a new cashflow system
  • Working with stakeholders to understand existing processes and pain points
  • Translating business needs into clear, practical functional requirements
  • Partnering closely with developers to support system design and delivery
  • Staying involved through testing, rollout and ongoing enhancement
  • Helping ensure the system evolves as the firm continues to grow

This role sits on the business side but requires someone who is comfortable working closely with technology and understands how systems are delivered in practice.

The kind of background that works well: This role suits someone who:

  • Has solid experience as a Business Analyst on financial or cashflow-related systems
  • Has worked in asset management, hedge funds, or a similar environment
  • Is confident working with both senior stakeholders and technical teams
  • Enjoys taking ownership and seeing projects through meaningful stages
  • Is practical, commercially minded, and comfortable with ambiguity
  • Consulting backgrounds are welcomed, particularly where there has been hands-on exposure to funds or complex financial systems.

This is not a pure project management role, and formal accounting qualifications are not a requirement.

Culture and working style:

  • Collaborative and straightforward environment
  • High level of trust and autonomy
  • Office-based but with sensible flexibility
  • Strong retention and long-tenured teams
  • A role where your contribution is visible and valued

Compensation and timing: Competitive base salary and bonus. Flexible for the right candidate. The hire is active, with genuine intent to move quickly.

If you’re a Business Analyst looking for a role where you can genuinely shape a core system, work closely with the business, and build something that will still matter in years to come, I’d be happy to have a confidential conversation.
