Financial Controller – (2+ years PQE) – New Hedge Fund Launch – Leading comp package!
We are partnering with a newly launched hedge fund backed by one of the most prestigious hedge-funds globally. This high-profile fund is looking to add a Financial Controller to the team ahead of further growth to aid in the development of their finance functions.
Being a young and relatively small firm, they have a lean team and hence will initially be a very hands-on role. The role will support everyday tasks such as financial/management accounting, budget and forecasting, supporting bookkeeping across different jurisdictions, and regulatory reporting. This hire will work directly with the COO, influencing the development of the infrastructure for the hedge fund, taking ownership on developing the accounting systems. Additionally, you will lead on managing the firm’s outsourced service providers, reviewing third-party work while teaching them the fund’s standards and processes. The hire will also work with the PMs directly, to design and manage their compensation structures. With the backing of the larger Hedge Fund, the firm has aggressive growth targets and as a result, the role will grow and complexity increase over time.
The team is looking for fully qualified candidates with a minimum of 6 years total experience (must be qualified). Prior experience working at a hedge fund is highly desirable (must have experience working within another buy-side firm if not hedge fund) and audit experience is a plus. The firm is focused on hiring high-caliber individuals and hence strong academics are important for this role.
This is a newly created, critical hire for the business, so the team is prepared to offer strong compensation which will offer a significant increase on your current total compensation. They have modern offices in Mayfair and a collaborative and progressive culture.
