Sheffield is home to some of the UK’s most iconic sweets brands: Maynards, Trebor and Bassett’s. It’s the largest sugar confectionery plant in the Mondelēz International network across Europe and produces approx. 40,000 tonnes of sweets each year. Purpose of the Role We are currently recruiting a Maintenance Planner whose function is pivotal in coordinating and controlling maintenance activity within the manufacturing plant. Additionally, they are a deputy for the Site Asset Reliability Manager. This person plans & organises substantial plant resources (circa £2.5m per annum of technical time, contracts and spares) across the manufacturing section. This individual interfaces extensively with the Section manufacturing, improvement and site engineering teams. They provide a link to external resources & contractors, and play an important role in leading the Technician groups in the Plant. As an experienced TPM practitioner the Maintenance Planner will also play a critical role in coaching these skills to the Technician group and driving culture change in the Department. Main Responsibilities Manage all aspects of Maintenance activity for the Sections. This will include technician resources, plant time & spares availability. Monitor and report the effectiveness of the maintenance activity to ensuring compliance to and role modelling of expectations of safety and quality, as well as delivering ongoing improvement in GE. Develop the maintenance programme deploying TPM techniques, and via an analytical data led approach, drive OEE improvement and eliminate waste. Provide strong support to the technician teams in developing Breakdown Analysis and Corrective Maintenance capability. Own and manage the SAP Maintenance system for the Sections. Act as the Section’s “Delegated Buyer” to ensure purchasing is carried out effectively. Act as the deputy for the Site Asset Reliability Manager as necessary. Lead and coach the Technicians to embed culture change within the Sections. Know the legal and compliance responsibilities of the position; raise questions and concerns when faced with, or learn of, an ethical or compliance issue; apply integrity in all aspects of professional conduct. Candidate Requirements A Technical qualification in engineering or a related discipline. Demonstrable track record in Factory Engineering with a preference towards Food production / FMCG environment. Experience based knowledge of TPM & CI techniques. In particular AM/PM, Kaizen, BDA, Maintenance Criticality. Highly organised and efficient with good attention to detail. Evidence of being able to train and develop the technical abilities of others (experience of formal training delivery an advantage). Experience of SAP PM would be an advantage but can be trained.
