As a team we pride ourselves on challenging and developing our Placement Students, by providing exposure to the breadth of engineering within our Formula 1 and Advanced Technology; working closely with many teams throughout the business to help continually improve our Power Units.
As a Materials Engineering Placement Student you will have the opportunity to play a key role within a team of specialist engineers, working on understanding the relationship between the structures we need to create, and the properties of a material to support performance and manufacturing feasibility. You'll work to develop the key materials technologies enabling continued performance and durability development of the Hybrid Power Unit. You will have the autonomy to actively contribute by managing your own materials research and development project work, enhancing your materials characterisation skills with hands-on access to a wide variety of equipment.

What do we need from you?
- Curious, tenacious and driven individuals who thrive in a fast paced environment
- To be on track to achieve a 2.1 degree, or above, in a relevant Materials Engineering / Metallurgy or related degree
- A strong academic background in relevant A-Level disciplines, for example maths or sciences (or equivalent qualification)
- An excellent understanding of engineering first principles
- Practical, "hands-on" experience to complement your academic studies
- Self-motivated, thorough engineers that are adaptable, creative and innovative with a strong desire to solve problems
- The courage to challenge and desire to be challenged, to expand your technical knowledge and skills
