We are recruiting for an Advanced CNC Production Engineer / CNC Machinist / CNC Programmer with strong experience in Fanuc CNC controls, CNC milling, CNC turning, and offline programming (preferably FeatureCAM or Fusion 360 but not essential).
This is a hands-on, high-skill production engineering role suited to an experienced engineer who is confident working in a precision-driven, fast-moving environment.
We are currently in a growth and investment phase after a period of stagnation, and we are looking for an exceptional experienced CNC professional who can programme, set, and operate CNC machines while also contributing to production improvement, efficiency, and quality control.
You will be directly responsible for programming, setting, and machining simple to complex components, while also contributing to process optimisation, production efficiency, and continuous improvement across the shop floor. You will also be required to assist the Production Manager and Director, supporting day-to-day operations, helping to coordinate workflow, and contributing to decision-making around production priorities and improvements.
- Program, set, and operate CNC milling and turning machines
- Develop and optimise CNC programs using both offline CAM systems and on-machine programming
- Manufacture precision components to extremely tight tolerances and high-quality standards
- Interpret complex engineering drawings, CAD models, and specifications
- Select tooling and machining strategies to maximise efficiency and tool life
- Troubleshoot machining and production issues in real time
- Support process improvement and standardisation across production
- Maintain a right-first-time, quality-driven manufacturing approach
- Assist the Production Manager and Director with production coordination and planning support
- Driving continuous improvement in CNC machining processes
Proven experience as an advanced CNC Production Engineer/Programmer in a precision engineering environment.
- Strong hands-on experience with CNC mills and lathes with Fanuc controls
- Advanced offline and online programming capability
- Full and comprehensive understanding of FANUC CNC control systems and programming
- Experience working with FANUC controls in a production environment
- Ability to machine simple to complex, tight-tolerance components
- Strong knowledge of engineering materials (aluminium, stainless steels, exotic alloys)
- Must have a genuine passion for CNC machining and precision engineering
- Must be prepared to join fellow workmates in additional hours or temporary shift changes when required to support production demands
- An advanced CNC production engineer with strong technical capability and pride in workmanship
- Someone with natural leadership qualities, able to support and guide others when required
- Someone who thrives in a close-knit, high-precision, quality-focused environment
- Multi-axis machining (3, 4, or possible 5-axis)
- Experience with FeatureCAM and/or Fusion 360 for offline programming is advantageous but not essential.
- Working knowledge of ISO 9001 quality systems
- Background in motorsport, aerospace, pharmaceutical or regulated industries
Competitive salary of £38,000 - £42,000 depending on experience.
