Monarch Education is supporting a secondary school in Birmingham in their search for a dedicated and detail-oriented Data and Exams Manager to join their team from September 2025. This is a full-time role, ideal for someone with strong experience managing school data systems and coordinating internal and external examinations.
Job Description:
As the Data and Exams Manager, you will play a critical role in ensuring the effective collection, management, and analysis of student data, as well as the smooth planning and delivery of all school examinations. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing and maintaining the school\'s MIS system (such as SIMS, Arbor, or Bromcom), ensuring data is accurate, secure, and up to date.
  • Coordinating all aspects of internal and external examinations, including exam timetabling, entry processing, rooming, invigilation, and results distribution.
  • Liaising with exam boards, staff, students, and invigilators to ensure all processes follow JCQ and awarding body regulations.
  • Producing and distributing accurate reports on pupil progress, attainment, attendance, and behaviour to inform teaching and leadership decisions.
  • Managing the submission of key school census and statutory data returns.
  • Training and managing a team of invigilators during examination periods.
  • Ensuring that examination and assessment information is clearly communicated to staff, students, and families.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience in data management and exam administration in a school or college setting is essential.
  • Proficiency in using school data systems such as SIMS, Arbor, or Bromcom.
  • A clear understanding of JCQ regulations and familiarity with awarding body procedures.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work to deadlines, manage multiple priorities, and maintain confidentiality.
  • Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with students, staff, and external agencies.
  • An enhanced DBS check on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
