Monarch Education is recruiting an enthusiastic and committed Teaching Assistant to support a high‑performing Primary Academy in the Wantage (OX12) area. This academy is known for its nurturing ethos, engaging curriculum, and strong focus on inclusive education. If you have recent experience working with children and a solid understanding of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), this could be the perfect role for you. About the Role
- Provide classroom support across EYFS, KS1 or KS2
- Work closely with class teachers and the SEND team to support pupils with a variety of needs
- Offer 1:1 or small‑group intervention for pupils with SEND (including ASD, ADHD, speech & language needs, learning delays, or SEMH challenges)
- Promote positive behaviour and help create a safe, engaging learning environment
- Support pupils’ academic, social and emotional development
- Contribute to the academy’s wider values of respect, resilience, ambition and inclusion
Requirements
- Recent experience working with children
- Experience or strong understanding of supporting children with SEND
- A calm, patient and adaptable approach
- Confidence building relationships with pupils and supporting their individual needs
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Ability to complete all required safeguarding and compliance checks
