Monarch Education are working with a primary school in Chew Valley to recruit a full-time SEND Teaching Assistant. This role is focused on supporting pupils with special educational needs and requires someone with proven SEND experience within a UK primary school.

Important – Essential Criteria (Please Read Carefully)

  • Level 3 qualification minimum (Teaching Assistant or a related qualification such as Childcare, Education, Supporting Teaching & Learning, Children & Families)
  • At least 6 months’ experience working in a UK school
  • Experience supporting pupils with SEND

The role:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEND
  • Support pupils with needs including Autism (ASC), SEMH, ADHD, and speech and language difficulties
  • Work in line with EHCPs and individual support plans
  • Adapt learning to meet individual needs
  • Support behaviour, emotional regulation, and engagement
  • Use structured SEND strategies, including routines, visual supports, and targeted interventions
  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENCo
