Location: Bury, Greater Manchester

Pay Rate: £92.59 – £110.24 per day

Contract: Full-Time, Monday to Friday (8:30am – 3:30pm)

Start Date: September 2026

Duration: Full Academic Year

We are currently recruiting for a dedicated and caring SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming Secondary SEN School in the Bury area from September 2026. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a genuine difference in the lives of students with a range of complex learning needs, helping them to achieve their full potential in a supportive and nurturing educational environment.

The Role

  • Support students aged 11-16 with a variety of special educational needs and disabilities (SEND)
  • Work closely with class teachers and the wider support team to deliver engaging learning activities
  • Provide 1:1 and small group support both inside and outside the classroom
  • Help students develop their academic, social and emotional skills
  • Promote positive behaviour and encourage independence
  • Support students with personal and pastoral needs when required

The Ideal Candidate

  • Have previous experience working with children or young people, ideally within an SEN setting
  • Are patient, empathetic and adaptable
  • Have strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Are passionate about supporting students with additional needs
  • Can build positive relationships with students, staff and parents
  • Hold a relevant Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent experience (desirable but not essential)
