Monarch Education is recruiting a Teaching Assistant to work within a Resource Base in a secondary school in Solihull, supporting students with special educational needs.

Role Overview

  • Provide targeted support to students within a Resource Base provision
  • Support students with SEN, including ASD, ADHD, and SEMH needs
  • Adapt classroom tasks to meet individual learning needs
  • Support students with literacy, numeracy, and communication skills
  • Assist with emotional regulation and behaviour management
  • Facilitate reintegration into mainstream lessons where appropriate
  • Promote independence and engagement in learning
  • Work closely with teaching staff and SEN team
  • Monitor, record, and report on student progress

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver structured support in line with EHCPs and support plans
  • Use strategies to manage behaviours and support learning
  • Support small group and 1:1 interventions
  • Provide consistency and routine for students
  • Assist with transitions between lessons and activities

Requirements

  • Experience supporting SEN in an education setting is essential
  • Minimum 12 weeks’ UK school experience
  • Experience working with secondary-aged students
