We are seeking a creative and passionate Qualified Art Teacher (QTS) to join a well-regarded secondary school in Oxford from September 2026. This is a long-term opportunity, ideal for an educator who is committed to nurturing creativity, self-expression, and artistic skills in students. You will teach across Key Stages 3 and 4 (KS5 desirable), encouraging students to explore a wide range of artistic techniques, styles, and mediums.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated Art lessons
- Teach across KS3 and KS4 (KS5 experience desirable)
- Support students in developing practical skills across a variety of media (drawing, painting, sculpture, digital art)
- Assess and track student progress, providing constructive feedback
- Create a stimulating and inspiring classroom environment
- Contribute to displays, exhibitions, and wider school enrichment activities
Essential Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK
- A degree in Art, Fine Art, Design, or a related subject
- Proven experience teaching Art at secondary level
- Strong subject knowledge across a range of artistic disciplines
- Excellent classroom management and organisational skills
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting student wellbeing
Desirable Skills & Experience
- Experience teaching GCSE Art & Design with strong outcomes
- KS5 (A-Level Art/Photography/Textiles) teaching experience
- Ability to teach across different creative disciplines (e.g. photography, graphics, textiles)
- Familiarity with exam boards such as AQA, Edexcel, OCR
- Experience contributing to school exhibitions or art showcases
