Important – Qualification Requirement
Applicants MUST hold one of the following to be considered:
- Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification
- Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in childcare or education
- A relevant degree related to education, psychology, SEN or child development
Applications without an accredited UK qualification will not be considered.
This school supports pupils aged 4-16 with:
- Autism and communication needs
- Moderate learning difficulties (MLD)
- Speech, language and social interaction needs
- Sensory processing difficulties
- Additional complex learning needs

Key Responsibilities
- Support pupils with a range of SEN needs, including autism, learning difficulties and sensory needs
- Follow individual support plans and EHCP targets
- Provide tailored 1:1 and small‑group support inside and outside the classroom
- Use visual aids, communication tools and structured routines
- Assist pupils with emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies
- Support personal care routines where required (training provided)
- Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, SENCOs and pastoral teams
- Help create a safe, engaging, inclusive learning environment
- Encourage independence, communication and social development
What We’re Looking For
- Level 2 or Level 3 childcare/education/TA qualification or a relevant education‑related degree (essential)
- Experience supporting children or young people with SEN (school, care, residential, SEN or childcare settings all considered)
- A calm, patient and resilient personality
- Ability to adapt to changing needs throughout the school day
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Understanding of autism strategies, sensory needs or communication tools such as PECs or Makaton (desirable)
