About the Role

  • Monarch Education is recruiting a compassionate and dedicated
  • Teaching Assistant to work within a specialist school in the
  • NG3 area , supporting children and young people aged

3 to 18 years with complex needs .

This rewarding role involves supporting pupils with a range of additional needs, including

Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD), severe learning difficulties (SLD), communication needs, sensory impairments, and complex medical needs .

You will play a key role in helping pupils access learning, develop independence, and achieve positive outcomes in a safe and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide

1:1 and small group support for pupils with complex SEND needs.

  • Assist with the delivery of personalised learning activities tailored to individual abilities and targets.
  • Support pupils with communication, sensory and emotional regulation needs.
  • Work alongside teachers, therapists and support staff to promote pupil development.
  • Support pupils with personal care where required.
  • Encourage independence, confidence and engagement in learning.
  • Help maintain a positive, inclusive and nurturing learning environment.
  • Monitor and record pupil progress in line with individual education plans.

Essential Requirements

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEND or complex needs.
  • A caring, patient and resilient approach.
  • Understanding of safeguarding and child protection responsibilities.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, families and colleagues.
  • Flexibility to support pupils across a range of ages and abilities.
  • Right to work in the UK.

Desirable Experience

  • Experience supporting pupils with

Autism, PMLD, SLD, physical disabilities or complex medical needs .

  • Knowledge of communication strategies such as PECS, Makaton or AAC devices.
  • Experience within a specialist school, SEND provision, care setting or support work environment.
  • Personal care experience.
