- We are seeking a confident, adaptable, and enthusiastic
Cover Teacher to join a welcoming and ambitious secondary school in Northampton.
This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified teacher, ECT, or experienced cover supervisor looking to make a positive impact across a range of subjects and year groups.
As a Cover Teacher, you will play a vital role in maintaining high standards of learning by delivering pre-planned lessons during teacher absences and ensuring students remain engaged, challenged, and supported throughout the school day.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver pre-prepared lessons across a variety of subjects.
- Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies.
- Ensure students remain focused and engaged in their learning.
- Support student progress by providing clear instructions and guidance.
- Work collaboratively with teaching and pastoral staff.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, behaviour, and lesson outcomes.
- Promote a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment.
- The Ideal Candidate Will Have
- Experience as a Cover supervisor or managing a classroom.
- Strong classroom management skills.
- The ability to teach confidently across a range of subjects.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- A flexible and proactive approach to work.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people.
- Experience working within a secondary school setting (desirable but not essential).
