The predicted salary is between 23000 - 27000 £ per year.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a highly specialised environment supporting pupils with a range of additional needs, particularly communication and interaction difficulties, including Autism (ASD) and speech, language, and communication needs (SLCN).
You will play a key role in supporting students both academically and socially, helping them to develop confidence, independence, and essential life skills.
Key Responsibilities- Support pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
- Assist teachers in delivering engaging and tailored lessons
- Support pupils with communication, emotional regulation, and social interaction
- Help implement EHCP targets and personalised learning plans
- Encourage positive behaviour and engagement in lessons
- Create a safe, inclusive, and structured learning environment
- Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and support staff
- Follow safeguarding policies and procedures at all times
- Experience working with children or young people (SEN experience desirable)
- Calm, patient, and nurturing approach
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to build trusting relationships with pupils
- A genuine passion for supporting young people with additional needs
- Experience supporting pupils with ASD or speech and language needs
- Knowledge of communication strategies (e.g., PECS, Makaton)
- Team Teach or similar behaviour management training
- Understanding of EHCPs and personalised learning approaches
