Monarch Education is seeking a passionate and dedicated History Teacher to join a vibrant and supportive secondary school in the B37 area. This is a long-term opportunity, extending through the academic year and into the Autumn Term, ideal for both experienced teachers and ECTs looking to grow in a dynamic and forward-thinking environment.
The successful candidate will deliver engaging and well-structured History lessons that inspire curiosity, critical thinking, and a love for the subject. You will be part of a collaborative department and a school committed to educational excellence and student development.
Key Responsibilities:- Plan and deliver high-quality History lessons across KS3, KS4, and KS5
- Develop curriculum-aligned lesson plans that promote analytical thinking and historical understanding
- Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and targeted support
- Adapt teaching strategies to meet the needs of diverse learners, including SEN and EAL students
- Foster inclusive classroom discussions and encourage multiple perspectives on historical events
- Support students’ academic and personal development through mentorship and pastoral care
- Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and support staff to enhance student outcomes
- Integrate educational technology to enrich learning experiences
- Contribute to extracurricular activities and wider school initiatives
- A recognised teaching qualification (QTS or equivalent)
- A degree in History or a related subject
- Experience teaching History at KS3, KS4, and ideally KS5
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
