Monarch Education is working with a secondary school in Tipton to recruit a full-time Food Technology Teacher to deliver lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 on a long-term basis starting in September.
Role Overview
- Plan and deliver Food Technology lessons in line with the national curriculum.
- Teach across KS3 and KS4.
- Prepare students for GCSE coursework and practical assessments.
- Maintain classroom and kitchen safety in line with school policies.
- Differentiating lessons to support a range of abilities, including SEN.
- Monitor, assess, and track student progress and attainment.
- Contribute to wider school activities, including intervention sessions where required.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver practical and theory-based Food Technology lessons.
- Support students in developing cooking skills, nutrition knowledge, and food safety awareness.
- Ensure safe use of equipment and maintain hygiene standards in practical lessons.
- Use assessment data to inform lesson planning and targeted support.
- Work with colleagues on curriculum planning and resource development.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and coursework.
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential.
- Experience teaching Food Technology in a UK secondary school.
- Ability to teach across KS3 and KS4.
- Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
- Knowledge of GCSE Food Technology specifications and assessment requirements.
