We are seeking an experienced, dedicated and compassionate Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) to join our sixth form college in Bristol. The college is proud to be a vibrant, diverse and hardworking community, where students are supported to thrive both academically and personally.

This is a pivotal role where you will play a central part in ensuring the safety, wellbeing and welfare of our students.

The Role

  • Lead on all safeguarding and child protection matters across the college
  • Act as the main point of contact for safeguarding concerns
  • Work closely with staff, students, parents/carers and external agencies
  • Manage referrals and maintain accurate, confidential safeguarding records
  • Provide guidance, training and support to staff on safeguarding practices
  • Promote a strong safeguarding culture throughout the college community

About You

  • Has significant experience in safeguarding/child protection within an education or youth setting
  • Has up-to-date knowledge of safeguarding legislation and statutory guidance (Keeping Children Safe in Education)
  • Is confident working with external agencies and managing complex cases
  • Is highly organised, resilient and able to manage sensitive situations
  • Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Is committed to inclusion, diversity and student wellbeing

A relevant safeguarding qualification and DSL experience are highly desirable.

All pay rates provided are inclusive of rolled up holiday pay.
