Date: September 2026 Contract: Casual / Flexible Supply About the Role Monarch Education are seeking enthusiastic and adaptable Casual Teaching Assistants to work across a variety of Specialist settings in Chesterfield.
This flexible role is ideal for individuals looking to gain valuable classroom experience while enjoying the freedom to choose when and where they work.
Opportunities are available across specialist SEND provisions, supporting pupils with a diverse range of learning and additional needs.
As a Casual Teaching Assistant, you will play an important role in supporting pupils’ learning, wellbeing, and development while helping to create a positive and engaging learning environment.
Key Responsibilities Support pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups.
Assist teachers in delivering classroom activities and learning programmes.
Encourage pupil engagement, confidence, and participation.
Support pupils with SEND, SEMH, and additional learning needs where required.
Promote positive behaviour and follow school policies.
Adapt to different school environments and classroom routines.
Build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
Support personal care needs where required.
Follow safeguarding procedures at all times.
Requirements Experience working with children or young people in education, childcare, care, coaching, youth work, or similar settings.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Flexible and adaptable approach to work.
Ability to build positive relationships quickly.
A patient, proactive, and reliable attitude.
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
Desirable Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, or Support Worker.
Experience supporting pupils with SEND, SEMH, Autism, or behavioural needs.
Knowledge of behaviour management strategies.
Relevant qualifications in Education, Childcare, Health
