We are seeking a dedicated SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) Teaching Assistant to work 1:1 with a Year 4 pupil in a welcoming primary school in East Bristol. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in a child’s educational journey.
Role Overview
- Provide tailored 1:1 support for a pupil with SEMH needs.
- Assist with emotional regulation, behaviour management, and academic engagement.
- Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement strategies and interventions.
- Foster a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment.
Requirements
- Previous experience supporting children with SEMH needs is highly desirable.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to remain calm and resilient in challenging situations.
- Team Teach certificate is preferable but not essential – training can be provided.
