We are recruiting for a dedicated and enthusiastic Religious Education Teacher to join a supportive secondary school in Birmingham. This is a long-term, full-time position starting after February half term.
Key Details:
- Location: Birmingham (Yardley area)
- Start Date: After February half term
- Contract Type: Long-term
- Working Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Experience teaching RE at Key Stage 3 and 4 (KS5 desirable)
- Strong subject knowledge and a passion for Religious Education
- Excellent classroom management and behaviour strategies
- A commitment to inclusive teaching and supporting student progress
- An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging, thought‑provoking RE lessons in line with the national curriculum
- Promote students’ understanding of world religions, ethics, culture, and belief systems
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing targeted support where needed
- Create a positive, inclusive, and respectful classroom environment
- Contribute to departmental planning, curriculum development, and whole‑school initiatives
- Support students with varying abilities, including those with SEN or EAL needs
