The predicted salary is between 27500 - 32500 £ per year.

We are seeking a dedicated and proactive individual to join our team as a Pastoral Support & Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead. This role is ideal for someone passionate about safeguarding and supporting young people to achieve their full potential. You will work closely with the Designated Safeguarding Lead to ensure the welfare of all students, while providing high-quality pastoral care and behaviour support.

Location: Birmingham

Availability: Full-time, Term Time plus 2 weeks

Salary: £110-£130 Per Day

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as deputy to the DSL, managing referrals and liaising with external agencies.
  • Support staff with safeguarding concerns and maintain accurate records on CPOMS.
  • Lead early help assessments and attend multi-agency meetings.
  • Coordinate Prevent Duty procedures and deliver safeguarding training.
  • Provide pastoral support, including 1:1 mentoring, family liaison, and behaviour management strategies.
  • Contribute to policy reviews and ensure safeguarding practices are embedded across the academy.

What We’re Looking For

  • Level 3 qualification or equivalent in a relevant discipline.
  • Accredited safeguarding training and experience in multi-agency working.
  • Proven experience supporting children and families in challenging circumstances.
  • Strong communication, organisational, and ICT skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive issues professionally and maintain confidentiality.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people.
