Monarch Education is currently recruiting for a compassionate and experienced EYFS SEND Teaching Assistant to join a supportive primary school in the B29 area of Birmingham. This full-time role is ideal for someone with a strong understanding of early years development, phonics and experience supporting children with additional needs, including personal care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored support to pupils in the EYFS setting with a range of SEND needs.
- Assist with personal care routines in a respectful and sensitive manner.
- Support the delivery of phonics sessions and early literacy development.
- Work closely with the class teacher to implement individual learning plans and EHCP targets.
- Foster a nurturing and inclusive environment that promotes independence and emotional wellbeing.
- Monitor pupil progress and contribute to planning and review meetings.
Requirements:
- Level 3 Childcare-related qualification is essential.
- Previous experience working in EYFS and supporting children with SEND.
- Strong knowledge of phonics (Letters and Sounds, Read Write Inc. or similar).
- Experience with personal care in a school or childcare setting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A caring, patient, and proactive approach to supporting young learners.
