Monarch Education is seeking a confident and adaptable Cover Supervisor to join a thriving secondary school in Northampton. Are you passionate about supporting young people’s education and looking for a rewarding role within a busy school environment? We are looking for a motivated individual to cover lessons across various subjects, ensuring learning continues smoothly in the absence of teachers. The ideal candidate will be flexible, proactive, and capable of managing classrooms effectively, maintaining high standards of behaviour, and supporting students’ learning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and manage classes during pre-planned or emergency cover lessons across a range of subjects
  • Ensure students stay on task and follow behaviour expectations
  • Maintain a positive and safe learning environment
  • Support students’ engagement and behaviour management
  • Follow lesson plans provided by teachers where applicable
  • Promote a respectful, inclusive classroom atmosphere
  • Report any issues or concerns to the appropriate staff

Candidate Requirements:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Confident classroom management abilities
  • Resilience, adaptability, and a positive attitude
  • Previous experience working with young people is desirable but not essential
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team

This role offers flexible hours and can be part-time or full-time, depending on your availability. Prior experience in a school setting is advantageous but not required.
