Monarch Education is seeking an experienced and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to join a supportive primary school in the Solihull area. This role is ideal for someone with extensive experience supporting pupils with autism and behavioural needs, who can provide tailored interventions and help create a positive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one support for 3 key pupils with varying needs including being non verbal.
  • Providing personal care support (toiletting, changing nappies etc).
  • Implement strategies to manage behaviour and promote emotional regulation.
  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to deliver personalised learning plans.
  • Assist with classroom activities and adapt resources to meet individual needs.
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils to encourage engagement and progress.
  • Communicate effectively with staff, parents/carers, and external professionals.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience supporting children with autism and behavioural needs (school-based experience essential).
  • Strong understanding of SEND strategies and behaviour management techniques.
  • Patient, empathetic, and resilient approach.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • A genuine passion for helping children overcome barriers to learning.
